Monsters.
- when i was little, aside from “the monster in the closet/under the bed”, i was afraid of:
1. facing the wall instead of the open.
2. looking out my door at night time, there was a risk of seeing something
creepy walk past.
3. i couldn’t have any body parts hanging off the bed, something might
touch me, grab me, or brush up against me.
4. i couldn’t have any body part hanging out of the covers, the monsters
found body parts delicious, & i would look appetizing. heads didn’t count
because it was too hot under the covers & the monsters made an acception.
5. if i didn’t run+jump onto my bed fast enough, something under the bed
was going to pull me under & kill me.
6. if i look into an air vent, i might see something looking back at me.
7. beetlejuice was real.
8. if i didn’t sleep in the middle of the bed, i’d look to my side & might have
a dead body laying next to me.
9. i couldn’t look into holes, (like keyholes & things along those lines) something
might stab my eyes.
10. i couldn’t listen to walls, i didn’t like the thought of a ghost on the other
side of the wall doing the same thing.
11. i couldn’t shut my eyes in the shower for more than 5 seconds.
12. i always had to have the shower curtain halfway open.
13. i was afraid of the devil.
14. i couldn’t look out a window when it was dark outside & thundering & lightning;
if lightning struck & the thunder was loud, i might see someone scary.
15. i didn’t believe that the cracking noises in houses were “things settling” or the wind.
i’ll stop right there, but believe me i could keep going, i was a pussy.
- i’m still afraid of numbers 1, 6, 9, 12, 14, & 15.
